Post-Doc, Archaeology and Ancient History
About
I read Classical Archaeology as an undergraduate at the University of Turin. My MA and PhD researches focused on the Punic coarse and painted ware from the sanctuary of Tas-Silġ (Malta). Over the years I have developed competence and skills in studying and analyzing Classical pottery and material culture from different sites of the Mediterranean, mainly located in Italy and Greece.
From April 2010 I get a permanent position as a officer in the Superintendence of Archeological Heritage of Piemonte and Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (Italy).
I also gained a wide range of archaeological practice and management experience working in various excavations in Italy, Malta and Turkey (Hierapolis). Moreover, I worked for one year as a archaeologist in the Municipality of Lecce. In addition, I am participating in the archaeological project concerning the indigenous sanctuary of Santa Maria d’Agnano (Ostuni, Italy).
In 2010, I joined the School of Archaeology and Ancient History (University of Leicester) as Postdoctoral Fellow in the Tracing Networks subproject “Weaving relationships: loom weights and cross-cultural networks in the ancient Mediterranean”. The project has been initiated by Prof Lin Foxhall and focuses on analysing the loom weights across the Mediterranean from Late Bronze Age to 3rd c. BCE, investigating the exchange of shapes, decorations, craft knowledge and personal/group behaviours within the larger social and economical interactions.
