My research interests include the representation of post-1949 Chinese art in contemporary British museums, propagandist art, the material culture of socialism, social and industrial heritage and the arts of Asia.
My doctoral research was Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

Teaching and related experience:
I have designed and led tutorials, and acted as Second Examiner for oral examinations on the MA Museum Studies/Art Gallery Studies courses, School of Museum Studies. I have worked on developing and editing modules for the MA Interpretive Studies and MA Museum Studies programmes, by distance-learning.
