About
I am an anthropologically-trained historical archaeologist. I earned a BA in Anthropology in 2003 and an MA in Historical Archaeology in 2005, both from the University of Massachusetts Boston. For my MA research, I used faunal analysis to explore nineteenth-century Native American foodways and reservation life in Connecticut. In 2010, I finished a PhD in Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. My doctoral research focused on the Brothertown Indians, a multi-tribal Christian community that originated on the East Coast, relocated to central New York State in the late eighteenth century, and moved once again to current-day Wisconsin in the nineteenth century.
I recently joined the School of Archaeology & Ancient History at the University of Leicester. Before moving to England, I served as an adjunct instructor both at the University of Massachusetts Boston and at the University of Connecticut, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Lafayette College.
