About

My academic background is in Psychology.  I completed my B.Sc. Human Psychology with professional training at Aston University in 2008 in which I undertook a placement year within the Worcestershire Early Intervention and Recovery Services for Psychosis. My experiences guided my final year dissertation in which I undertook a qualitative project researching into the relationship between media representations and individual perceptions of Schizophrenia (Supervised by Dr Rachel Shaw).

I completed my M.Sc. Health Psychology at Aston University in 2010. As well as expanding on my quantitative research skills and statistical analysis techniques, I undertook another qualitative project looking at the influence of experiences of post-diagnostic care upon medication adherence in epilepsy patients (Supervised by Dr Elizabeth Peel and Dr Rachel Shaw).

I am continuing to utilise my knowledge of and interest in Qualitative research through undertaking a PhD at Leicester University within the Implementation theme of the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) programme for Leicester Northampton and Rutland. My project is supervised by Prof. Richard Baker and Dr Jay Banerjee. I am applying the knowledge and skills I have gained from studying Psychology through focusing on the implementation of evidence-based practice, focusing on adherence to NICE practice guidelines.
