About
I work as a Minoan ceramic expert on the publication teams of Mochlos Excavations and Papadiokambos Excavations. The material from both projects are housed at the INSTAP Study Center for East Crete (also called the Kentro). For the past several years I have spent the majority of my time working here and enjoying the Cretan lifestyle.
Being a trained potter, I enjoy using the local clays to replicate Minoan vessels to discover hidden processes of production and vessel use. To produce these vessels I use both a replication of the Late Minoan potter's wheel installed at Mochlos and a modern potter's kick-wheel at the Kentro. Currently, I am producing replicas of Late Minoan cooking pots from Mochlos to learn more about hearth cooking. Stay tuned for new discoveries!
