Graduate Student, Centre for Urban History
Institute of Historical Research, University of London, Junior Research Fellow
About
I'm a PhD student at the Centre for Urban History at the University of Leicester. My thesis examines theft in eighteenth-century Bristol, and considers the ways that crime, investigation and justice were shaped by the urban environment and by the governmental structures of the city.
My interests include subjects such as the relationship between crime and social activity, the circulation of stolen goods, theft and maritime trade, and the work and effectiveness of the nightwatch.
In 2011-12 I will also be a junior fellow at the Institute of Historical Research in London.
