Lecturer in Media and Communications
About
I work in the Department of Media and Communication, University of Leicester as Lecturer in Media and Communications. My current research draws on key debates within hermenutic theory, especially debates at the interface of philosophical hermeneutics (With its focus on tradition in shaping interpretive work and understanding) when it encounters assertions within democratic communication which question the role of tradition in interpretation. This specific disagreement/dialogue shapes my current research, at both theoretical and empirical levels.
More generally - my interests revolve mainly around audience reception studies. Within this broad area, my current interests include - (New) media genres, Philosophical hermeneutics, Reception aesthetics, (New) media literacies.
